But our people around here like to make them. Some adapted cake mix dough and buttercream frosting to hold them together. I can definitely think of worse things to cram 6-7 in my mouth at a time. :)Hellie Sinclairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03933713255844695337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807276960105744379.post-31779120843492591742011-12-15T10:03:56.467-05:002011-12-15T10:03:56.467-05:00Steubenville is about 45mins west of Pittsburgh bu...Steubenville is about 45mins west of Pittsburgh but I've never heard of a gob. Now I'm curious. What is it? LOL!

And your menu sounds a lot more time consuming than my plan to lift ready made dough off the little piece of cardboard and onto the cookie sheet. (Yes, I consider this baking.) I haven't seen nutrolls anywhere since I moved south.Terri Osburnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17176989488447450585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807276960105744379.post-75824638076084347562011-12-14T22:20:25.643-05:002011-12-14T22:20:25.643-05:00I wish I had been able to be more timely. Serious...I wish I had been able to be more timely. Seriously, the shipping hurt. :(

Good luck with your baking! I decided that I'm going to do a couple desserts instead of cookies. I don't have a lot of time to slave over them. So, I'm going to make a few bar cookies and I'm making pretzel salad and cheesecake and apple pie. I'm going to still do some cookies (I don't know if Santa likes cheesecake) but not as many.

I haven't had nut roll since I moved to NJ. No one seems to make them here. Weird huh? And they've never heard of a gob. You grew up out by Pittsburgh, right? I sent mine before Thanksgiving and thankfully, I used out company account. Got a huge discount and I just have to reimburse the company. Cost less than $5!!

I bought three packs of cookie dough tonight but didn't find peanut butter cookies. Thanks to Elsie, I now have something I can use that jar of organic PB that my daughter refuses to eat. LOL! We'll be baking those on Saturday!

Growing up, my grandmother much have made a dozen different kinds of cookies. We'd be baking for weeks. Nut rolls, rum balls, sugar cookies, pitzells. I'm thinking about Christmas baking, but I'm being dragged in too many directions already, LOL.

We always decorated sugar cookies growing up. Loved it! Actually, my sisters at home still do.

And best of luck with the Golden Heart! I always find announcement day a little disappointing. I mean, I've never seen my name out there . . . but then I think you probably have to enter to final. . . .Jordan McCollumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523599384793856702noreply@blogger.com
